GM Diet: Day 06

Goal: Beef and vegetables. Today you may eat an unlimited amount of beef and vegetables. Eat to your heart’s content.

Sounds really good but after all I’ve been through, I can’t bring my self to eat to my heart’s content. I’m done with raw vegetables so I decided to steam all (carrots, cabbage, young corn cub, string beans). Made “bistek” from beef but only a small portion as I don’t really like beef. Then just mixed everything. I even ate the vegetable soup from Day 04. Then had the mixed veggies for my lunch and dinner.

Felt as refreshed as ever despite having only 6 hours of sleep. Weight remained the same as yesterday. I actually like to have another round of this programme but I would like to take a break from all the food preparations. Maybe I’ll just do Day 01-02 this weekend. We’ll see.

GM Diet: Day 05

On the menu today: Two 10 oz. portions of lean beef and 6 whole tomatoes.

It is supposed to be “feast day”, but because of the tomatoes, it didn’t feel like one. I had to stuff my mouth with tomatoes and swallow them as fast as I can. I just pan-grilled the beef about 80% of the implied amount of beef. Ate about 1/4 of it during breakfast, 1/2 during lunch, and the last 1/4 for dinner. The tomatoes made my stomach feel really sour that even if you don’t feel like adding about one quart of water intake, my stomach mandated it.

And oh, the weight reading is now more consistent: I lost 1 kilogram! It feels so rewarding and I even feel like doing the programme again for another week. But we’ll see.

I am excited about tomorrow: unlimited beef and veggies! Although I prefer to have unlimited veggies than beef.

GM Diet: Day 01

I met up with a friend whom I haven’t seen for 6 months and she lost a lot of weight! Not to mention, she looked great. When I asked how she did it, she told me about the General Motors (GM) Diet. The 7-day eating plan appears so difficult especially for me who cannot function properly without eating rice! I could actually convince myself to get serious on running but I need to detoxify from within. I do feel that I’ve been accumulating a lot of toxins for years. Also, the shooting pain on my left breast (probably due to the lumps) has been getting worse each day. I’ve read somewhere that detoxification could help so why not hit two birds with one stone?

Armed with encouragements from my friends, I started GM diet today. The goal: feed myself with fruits except banana. Good thing that melon is recommended as it is only one of the few fruits that I could get myself to eat. I’ve decided to start the programme on a Saturday because I’m afraid I would pass out if I ever go to the office with no carbohydrate intake.I woke up at 9AM, had a huge bowl of rock melon and lots of water. An hour later, I felt hungry so I grabbed a bowl of watermelon then another glass of water. By 3PM, I’ve had 4 bowls of melon all in all and lots of water so that meant countless trips to the toilet. As the day wore off, I’m feeling more light-headed as ever and seemed like my strength had left me.

I had to go out for a bit to buy the vegetables for tomorrow. On my way home, I was hungry again and really, really light-headed so I dropped by Coffee Bean to get a regular-sized black coffee. Yeah, black coffee is allowed but it was not fun drinking it. After all, I do love cream and sugar in my coffee. Well, at least it helped lessen my hunger and light-headedness for about 2 hours.  From late afternoon until evening, I have consumed 2 more bowls of melon and lots of water.

I’m really glad that Day 1 is over but there’s still 6 more days before I could eat rice and meat again! I just hope I could suppress my cravings for 2 more days. They did say that the 4th day would be a walk in the park, right? Yeah, it also feels a bit weird not eating something salty, something that’s cooked with soy sauce. Ahhhh…. I really look forward to having potatoes tomorrow.

Day 1 starting weight: 57.5 kgs
Day 1 end weight: 57.0 kgs

Other observation:
- Getting out and walking under the sun sort of brought back a little of my strength, maybe because it took my mind off not having eating rice today
