At first, I was not really keen on watching 3D movies because is uncomfortable putting that 3D goggles on top of my eyeglasses! Yeah, yeah. I need to buy contact lenses but only when I go home to the Philippines where it is cheaper. I remember taking that Spider Man ride at the Universal Studios in Japan. I didn’t have contacts on and I was afraid to lose the goggles if I put it on top of my eyeglasses. The images were too blurry, so it was like 50% off the fun.
Anyway, when I heard about the Avatar movie being show in 3D, I just couldn’t let the opportunity pass. It was the first 3D movie that I’ve ever watched. The 3D effects good but not so impressive but I loved the storyline. Then the movie “How to train your dragon” came and its storyline and 3D effects rocked! But it just raised my expectations for the movie “The Clash of the Titans” in 3D, which was a disappointment. Nevertheless, I still look forward to watching Puss in boots again in the upcoming Shrek movie in 3D! What made it more exciting is that I’ll most probably watch it together with my little angel, Shaynna. Better be good…

I’m not sure if HP6 is still being shown in the theaters here in Singapore. But I still have it, the Harry Potter fever. The company gave us free tickets to the movie so I took advantage of it and last weekend, I watched Harry Potter and the Half-blood Prince the again. That time, I had some preparations. I “reviewed” all of the previous HP movies. Too bad I didn’t have enough time to read all the books again!
Anyway, watching them all over again made me want to be one of those students or even a teacher at Hogwarts. Even having one of those magical things from Fred and George would be so cool. Imagine having mobile homes that could be stuffed into your bag!

With the rising number of AH1N1 cases, occasional reports of food poisoning, personal hygiene must be observed at all times. I just hope everyone shares this same interest specially when using public utilities and when in public places. The first reason why I don’t really like taking the MRT is that it is just too crowded even on weekends. Everytime I’m on it, someone coughs and sneezes without even covering his mouth! I also don’t like using the public toilets because of those “leftovers” on the toilet bowl and the improperly disposed sanitary pads. Well, we can’t force all people to be considerate so at least, we could start at home. How I wish we had copper sinks because I have read somewhere that copper possesses natural antibacterial properties that naturally kill viruses and bacteria. Then at least I don’t have to pour much worries on keeping the sink virus-free as much as possible.

Have you ever bought a movie ticket without knowing the title nor the genre? I have not. But I had the chance to go to the movies without any clue as to what the movie was all about.
A friend in the office got sick and she gave me her ticket to a “surprise movie”. I’m not sure if they have it in most malls here in Singapore, but my first surprise movie experience was at Plaza Singapura. I think they only have it on Tuesdays. The mall is a bit far from the office and my place, but it was worth a try.
Have you ever heard of the movie, “Fighting”? I hadn’t heard of it also, but I was still glad it was not a horror film. If it were, I would have spent the whole time covering my eyes. There were some boring parts that almost made me sleep, but all in all, it was OK. The ticket costs S$6.50 only, cheaper than the weekend price, but I think I will not try it again. The people here must really like surprises because the place was almost full…

Bondying (The Little Big Boy) is a movie from the Philippines that depicted the story of a big guy who was still treated like a baby by his grandmother. The result? He was very immature and he behaved like a two year-old boy. This film was released in 1989. I was nine years old at that time, but I can still picture out Jimmy Santos, the protagonist, carrying his gigantic milk bottle. He walked around wearing a diaper while sucking his thumb. He went through a difficult ordeal when the army tried to make a man out of him. He may be a giant toddler but he fell in love. Unfortunately, I can’t remember whether he was able to finally grow up or remained a Bondying.
An idiotic A senseless question bugged me, though. Was he wearing cloth or disposable adult diapers? Anyway, I’ve just realized that it’s been quite some time since I’ve seen a Philippine movie. Care to make a suggestion?

Okay… I admit it. I have caught a severe blogging fever. I couldn’t go to sleep or do the things that needs to get done without sharing first about one of my rare Friday night outs. Akane-san and I dashed from work to catch the last show of the Pirates of the Caribbean - At World’s End at the HEP Navio Cinemas. To those who are wondering how the cinemas here look like… here’s some pictures, with their new endorsers… ahem ahem

Even if Japan is known for having the latest technologies, Philippines have more impressive cinemas, not to mention the price difference! I have only tried cinemas in HEP Navio and in Kagoshima (5 years ago) so probably they have greater cinemas in other parts of Japan. Still, my movie experiences here are great. What else can I say… I’ve always loved going to the movies!I won’t go to great lengths expressing my views about the movie. A sentence is enough: I love it and I love Jack Sparrow! Oh, one more thing. The proposal and wedding of Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann is sooooo romantic. ^-^There’s something I’d like to forget, though: I had the misfortune of taking a glimpse at the trailer of the new Ring movie! I really need to watch something that’s funny enough to
exorcise the image of Sadako from my mind! Yikes!

I woke up at around 11:30 this morning and after taking a look outside, the typhoon might have decided not to pass by Osaka after all! The sky’s not clear but it’s hot outside. At least I won’t be wet for our date with Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom. Akane-san and I agreed to watch Pirates of the Carribean 3, but two months after it was first shown, a huge crowd was still lining up! So we decided to watch Harry Potter and the Order of Phoenix instead.
How was it? Mmmmm… if not for the encounter between Dumbledore and Voldemort, I would have concluded that the film is a big disappointment. Lots of details have been changed or omitted, many parts are not clear, and some moments are quite boring. You could find the differences of the plot between the book and the film in Wikipedia. I would have loved to see more of Tonks in the movie because I really find her cool, but she only appeared for about three times! Furthermore, I commend Evanna Lynch for excellently portraying the role Luna Lovegood. All in all, no matter how unsatisfied I was, I am still looking forward to the next Harry Potter movie. ^-^
The enjoyable part of the day was the long chat with Akane-san before the movie. We got to talk about almost anything. Everyone… meet Akane-san:
