I want to be an oil surveyor

I know someone who works as an oil surveyor. He is offshore for 6 weeks, then goes back home to the Philippines for a 6-week paid vacation. He is even given a housing and transportation allowance. The most attractive thing about his job? He is paid more than US$7,000 a month! He’s been on that job for more than 5 years already. He has a very nice car and bought a condo in Metro Manila. He spent thousands on his housewarming party and half a million pesos for his 30th birthday! Soon he’ll be on an Outer Banks vacation. He’s living a very extravagant life and I’m not even paid half of his salary. If I could, I want to be an oil surveyor! Nah, I’m still grateful for all the things I have now and I’m still happy being
a programmer. ;)

Bettyful!

It’s been years since I’ve last watched a series from the Philippines.  Before I came across Korean, Taiwanese, and Japanese drama, I didn’t mind watching a series that runs for years. I thought it was just normal, and I was surprised that drama from other countries only have around 15-20+ episodes.  It’s a good thing that they no longer do that.

One new dramedy (dramatic-comedy) from ABS-CBN that I find so interesting is I Love Betty La Fea, based on Columbian series Yo soy Betty, la fea.   I love Betty’s very optimistic character, and I love Bea Alonso portraying Betty.   She may not be good-looking but as what they’ve said, she’s beautiful inside.  ;)  There are many good actors and actresses in the series, including Ai-ai delas Alas playing the role as Betty’s mother.

I attempted to watch other versions but I prefer this one, where I can relate as a Pinoy, and seeing Philippines through this series makes me feel at home. :)

The Vineyard Man

I think I already wrote something about The Vineyard Man. I like Yoon Eun Hye in The Princess Hours so I searched for her other dramas and came across The Vineyard Man. Her drama, The Coffee Prince was also OK but my favorite is the Vineyard Man. The story is predictable but I guess part of the reason why I love this drama is this song:

Gotta try this

I am now starting to get crazy over the series Hana Kimi or Hanazakarino Kimitachihe, in both Japanese and Taiwanese versions. Anyways, I am not going to start promoting this series, but the lead actress, Ella Chen, is very cool especially her hairstyle. I had never ever worn such a very short haircut and I think I would like to try it! But before that… I guess I’d have to gather my confidence and charm (ahem) to be able to “carry” this hair style. Probably I’d also need lots of facial spa and tons of whitening stuff he he….

But I suppose it all comes down to how we look at ourselves, huh? You bet… I’m definitely gonna post my picture with a much much shorter hairstyle… soon… ^-^
