I feel guilty about not updating this blog as often as I could have, but at the same time, I don’t want to waste all the photos that’s eating up my external drive’s memory fast. I’m pretty sure I’ll be updating Random Snapshots more than this one so I hope you could also take a roadtrip there.

This blog is still using Wordpress 2.3.2. Yes, it is way too old. That’s why after sleeping a lot on my sick leave yesterday, I took the steps to upgrade to Wordpress 3. I backed up everything: database and my Wordpress files, disabled all plug-ins, downloaded and unzipped the new Wordpress, made the upload, and overwrote some files. Everything went slowly but smoothly. Then I was down to the last step: Go to wp-admin/upgrade.php. I was really excited when the message about database incompatibility came up. I’m using an older version of MySQL. I didn’t want to give up so I tried to look for a way how to do the database upgrade. Wasn’t able to find out how to I deleted everything again and uploaded back up my good ol’ Wordpress 2.3.2.
I wonder how long will it take me to get motivated again to try upgrading my blog… 
A friend is leaving for Australia soon and she’s selling me her 3 in 1 printer! I haven’t collected the printer yet but I’m really excited to install document scanning software and go over many stuff. But I left my old pictures box in the Philippines. It’s really fun seeing baby photos, those taken during highschool days and I so badly want to share mine in Facebook and here. I just would like to prove to you guys that I’ve been skinny once. Many of my friends don’t believe that Shaynna, now 5 years old, looks exactly like me when I was five. I want to prove that one, too! The next time I go home, I’ll definitely take it with me and I’ll have tons of scanned photos to upload and dozens of things to blog about. Maybe, I’ll also start sending postcards again through Postcrossing!
Bisdak Babbles was previously my online journal mostly about my experiences in Japan. Japan is really a beautiful and interesting country. I could even write much about just the change of seasons. But since Singapore is only warm whole year round, I could not babble more about the weather except that it is so humid here. I don’t know where to take this blog to. Before, I was even planning to consider about search optimisation and trying out a free seo software. But what shall I write about? Sometimes, I consider writing about food here because there’s sure a variety of restaurants. But that would require money and I could gain more weight! Any other suggestion?
I wished to at least change the template of this blog for its 3rd anniversary. But doing that is a bit difficult because I’m using a really old version of Wordpress. So, I need to migrate to newer version to change into a cooler look. It all comes down to my laptop computer . I’ve been using it for more than 3 years already and I badly need a replacement. Its battery is no longer working and its power outlet is also a big problem. So every time I use my laptop, I need to really stay still. A slight movement could cut off the power supply and in just 5 minutes, it’s dead! If I do manage to stay really still, I also have to use it in an elevated position, its bottom should be direct to the electric fan because it now easily gets overheated. Yeah, I really need to get a new one so that I could also get on with my blogging life. I should put it in my Christmas wish list, or in my “things to do when I’m 30″ list. I wish I could win the lottery.

I have to pay this blog’s host every 6 months. The last payment I made was scheduled last week, January 12. However, on that day, I did not have enough funds in my PayPal. I was very sure that my host would close down my blog. So I backed up everything and was feeling a little bit gloomy. I did not want to lose this blog. I don’t have a credit card and it was already too late to transfer funds from my Japanese Bank account to my PayPal.
Two days after the payment schedule, my blog was still alive! When I checked my email, I received a notification about PayU2Blog sending their payment 5 days earlier! And it was on the same day when I needed funds the most. It’s the earliest payday PayU2Blog has ever had. Coincidence? I consider it as a miracle.
