Aside from the Petronas Twin Towers, the Batu Caves is another site that you should, by all means visit in Kuala Lumpur. Going there is very easy and cheap (only costs 2RM). You can just take the train from the KL Sentral Station going to Batu Caves. The train ride is about 20 minutes and is another opportunity to see Kuala Lumpur.

From the station, you can already have a glimpse of how great the place is.

At the foot of the mountain stands the world’s tallest statue of Murugan, a Hindu deity, at 42.7 m (140 ft) high:


So, did we take those very steep, sometimes uneven, 272 steps? Definitely yes! I may have not climbed the Teotihuacan Pyramids, but because this site has railings, I was able to gather all my confidence and strength to climb. It was also a good choice to go there at past 4PM!


I was actually shaking during the climb because I was already very tired halfway, and I was terrified at the consequence should my knees give in! But it was really worth it…
