Giordano warehouse sale where you could buy two shirts for 5SGD, toys warehouse sale, and other brands sale keep on popping up everywhere in Singapore. Then starting today until Sunday, there is another electronics sale. From what I’ve heard from my friend who read the paper today, you could even buy hairdryer for just 5SGD, a rice cooker for 10SGD, and even an all-in-one printer for just 33SGD! Really great bargains, huh? The catch is: they only give these prices to the first 200 items. A customer could not buy more than one of each item. I wish they also have jura coffee machine for a very low price, too! But I wonder if I have the patience to elbow my way through the crowd.
I dropped by the previous IT Fair and it was so crowded that it took me about 30 minutes to get into the exhibition hall! And I got out of there in one piece and empty handed. I was just curious.
Here’s the photo I took. Inside the hall was still a bit spacious…

Even before I arrived in Singapore, this wonderful website called gothere.sg has helped me a lot. Because of this, I was able to find an apartment that is so close to the office. Then there’s this website hungrygowhere.com. The domain name says it all. Restaurants information just a few clicks away. Recently, I came across this website: sg.offerstation.com, where you could get information on where to find good bargains. Shoes companies, just like Naot shoes have their websites too. And if you’re lazy to visit their shops, you could just shop online and have them delivered right at your doorsteps. From small to gigantic shopping malls have updated websites. Yes, it’s pretty obvious… I’m beginning to fall in love with Singapore. After all, I love window shopping and “online window shopping”.

The opening of Sentosa’s Universal Studios is fast approaching. Construction is still in full swing but when I went there last November, the roller coaster is already finished. For us staying here in Singapore, we no longer need to get one of those orlando vacations to enjoy what Universal Studios has to offer. Though, the one in Florida is so far the best, as expected. But at least there will be more exciting things to do in Sentosa other than the luge ride.
By the way, I think I did not mention it before, but I was able to finally try the ever famous luge ride. I love it! Will blog more about this before I go home for Christmas… hopefully.

In my iGoogle screen, I still keep the weather forecasts of places that concerns me, including Osaka. I was very surprised to see Osaka getting up to -11C. At this time of the year? When I was there, even at the peak of winter, the temperature in Osaka didn’t drop below -3C. I scrolled down and had a hard time to keep myself from laughing (everyone’s asleep already)…

It would be nice though, to really get cool temperature in this side of the globe. The topmost forecast is for Osaka. I refreshed my iGoogle and got the same reading for all these places. This time, the temperature ranged from 23C-32C.

It’s been a while since I’ve last put up the Christmas tree at home. In fact, we’d never put up a Christmas for more than 5 years. Because of Shaynna and Kiera, my 2-year old niece, I bugged my mother until she gave in. Two weeks ago, Shaynna happily told me over the phone that it is finally Christmas at home because we already have a Christmas tree!
If I were to decorate a tree, I’d consider putting on silver and blue ornaments such as this tree at the CityLink Mall:

On my second day here in Singapore, I was on my way to my pre-employment medical checkup when an insurance agent. Having learned from personal experience, I want to make sure that my family won’t be in financial difficulty if something happens to. I’ve always wanted to get a good social security disability insurance, life insurance, education plan. So, after getting my first paycheck, I met up with that insurance agent again. The company he worked for wanted to make sure that a prospective policy holder doesn’t have any pre-existing conditions, so I took another medical exam.
There were some tests that are for women only so I was really glad it was a lady doctor who did those tests. When she told me she could find lumps on my breast, it really scared the hell out of me. I still have a small girl, and I’m the sole breadwinner of the family! Because of those findings, the insurance company rejected my policy application. It was hard to get an appointment to see a specialist so I’ve been sleepless for weeks. The breast ultrasound was really uncomfortable even if it was done by a female. Indeed, 6 lumps were found. Talking to the specialist removed a bit of my worries. She told me that lumps are common and that I don’t need to do any more tests. But I still chose to undergo ultrasound every 6 months.

I’ve been hooked to the current season of Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) since it started on October 4th. I am a fan of Melai, the sassiest housemate. There was even a time when I stay up until 3AM because the activities started at 1AM! Seems like all the things I got from my PBB and anime addictions are not good for my health. But always staring at those gorgeous ladies in the PBB house gives me some kind of inspiration to at put in some efforts in losing weight. What’s more? The TV station always shows the housemates doing some workouts, so I get constant tips on how to lose belly fat! Some tips are even fun to do, most are very easy. But it all comes down to me to use all these tips.

Weeks ago, I found this article in Marie Claire website entitled “Four weeks to a better body”. The article contains different exercise regime from Monday-Friday, good fat burners in all areas. You may also spend two days effort on those areas you want to have better shape. Was it effective? I wouldn’t know. I’ve only tried the Monday workout on the second week of November and that was the last time I did it. I came up with a thousand excuses to postpone getting really serious about. Now, I only have less than two weeks to loose even two pounds in preparation for the Christmas and New Year feasts. I don’t think even starving myself would give any difference. So, I’ll postpose it again ’til next year.
