Me, the disciplinarian?

Posted on October 22, 2009 - Filed Under Family |

If my mother and my younger sister were staying with me, I would have gained a lot of weight already and would have taken into consideration using one of those weight loss supplements. My family loves to eat. Yes, there’s nothing wrong with it, unless junk food is what they often dig into.

I really hate to take up the role of a discipliarian but that is just what I do each time I go home. Being in Japan for a few years has taught me a lot, and health awareness is one of them. I maybe considered the worst among my friends in personal health care. But my family is worse than me. My family is a big fan of soda and I want to change that. It is hard especially trying to impose that in a throng of stubborn people. But I will keep on trying. That’s why I brought my mother a box of green tea. I hope she will at least give green tea a chance and start forgetting about soda.

My family is not a fan of soda nor of green tea. But my sisters try to take green tea for the benefits I mentioned to them. My mom just can’t take the bitter taste of it. My Uncle & brother-in-law are drinking green tea for their high blood pressure. I do not love green tea but I try to take it for the benefits it offers.

You find me nodding there- when you’ve been to Japan and you’ve witnessed how people take good care of their food intake, you get influenced, especially seeing the results yourself.

Just like you, I’m the most health-conscious in the family. I find myself always reminding my family not to eat too much of this and that food to be fit.
