Thursday Thirteen #10
An I.T. job becomes boring when…
.) All you’ve been doing for over 6 months is read specifications and some were written in a language that you don’t understand!
.) No “real” deadline to catch, or worse, you don’t even know the project schedule!
.) No specific role assigned and you don’t have a specific module you can call your “own”.
.) It’s a bit embarrassing to eat potato chips to fight off sleepiness. The office is so silent that you’re afraid everyone would hear you munching.
.) Everyone looks so busy and you think you’re the only one slacking off.
.) For quite a time, there’s no update from your leader and you keep on thinking what if the next update would be about the project being finished or it’s you who’s already finished.
.) No work email addressed to you. All that goes into your mailbox is through the team’s mailing list.
.) Everyone’s gone to the project meeting and design/code reviews and you’re left alone in your team’s work area.
.) Instant Messengers are banned.
.) Listening to the music during work hours is not allowed.
.) Lots of people could see your monitor from behind, so you’re forced to open work-related documents and web sites only.
.) You can’t just open a website for fear of pop-up windows and spywares.
.) When you’ve read all your friends’ blogs and you can’t explore new ones because of #12.
